Oleh karena semakin berkembangnya virus yang beredar saat ini, maka banyak sekali update yang dilakan oleh para produsen antivirus termasuk Avira Antivir, dengan keluarnya Avira Antivir Personal free Edition versi 9 ini.
Avira Antivir mempunyai beberapa versi produk, namun yang gratis adalah Avira Antivir Personal. Sayangnya ukuran instaler lumayan besar yaitu sekitar 29 mega. Sedangkan update manualnya juga cukup besar yaitu 22 mega. Agak susah apabila download dengan koneksi lambat.
